Can you introduce yourself in a few words…
I’m Christian Orrillo, I’m 25 years old and I’m a peruvian artist currently located in Chile. I’m completely self-taught and I live my life as a permanent dream. I created the project ‘Krizpi’ a long time ago to share all my creations and It bacame somehow my nickname. I’m obsessed with iridiscent textures and colors, I love astrology, the sea and the future.
How would you describe your creative universe ?
Enigmatic, seductive, feminine, organic, vibrant, iridiscent, between the present, the past and the future. It’s constantly changing, transforming and expanding the horizons of my own visual vocabulary.
Where does your inspiration come from ?
I’m a big fan of nature, specially the sea creatures, I can spend hours looking at their colors, shapes and silouettes. I’m also a huge fan of astrology and the universe, so I try to put some of my knowledge about the planets and the stars somehow in my work. I adore music as well and how musicians teleport their sound to a visual product as a video or an album cover, so music and photography are also powerful inspirations for my art, as well as fashion design and futuristic topics.
What is the project you dream of making happen ?
I dream a lot of creating some kind of synesthetic experience where people can explore all this universes I create by using their all senses, combining them. I’d love to expand my concepts to another areas as video and sculpture.
I also would love to collaborate with musicians I deeply admire as Björk or Grimes and fashion designers like Palomo Spain.
What are you working on right now ?
I’m currently working on new art, exploring new ways to create, sketching a lot and thinking of the future of my universe that grows so fast that scares me. I’m also very excited to be part of my first online group exhibition this month.
